Barcode Generator
This barcode generator produces a scannable barcode in nine formats — CODE128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, CODE39, ITF-14, MSI, Codabar and Pharmacode — covering retail products, shipping cartons, ID badges and general-purpose text. Adjust bar width, height and color, then export as PNG, JPG or WebP. Barcode data never leaves your device — every image is rendered locally in the browser.
Any text or numbers — the most flexible format.
Frequently asked questions
What barcode formats does this generator support?
It supports nine formats — CODE128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, CODE39, ITF-14, MSI, Codabar and Pharmacode — each following its own published symbology standard so the output scans correctly in standard barcode readers.
Which barcode format should I use?
CODE128 is the most flexible choice and encodes arbitrary text and numbers, so use it when no specific format is mandated; use EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail products that go through point-of-sale scanners, CODE39 for logistics and ID badges, and ITF-14 for shipping cartons.
Why does the generator say my barcode value is invalid?
Each format enforces its own input rules — EAN-13 requires 12 or 13 digits with a valid check digit, Codabar requires start and stop letters from A to D, and Pharmacode only accepts numbers in a fixed range — check the hint under the format dropdown for the exact rule that format expects.
Does this barcode generator send my data anywhere?
No — every barcode is drawn locally in your browser, so the value you encode is never uploaded or logged on a server.
What is the difference between EAN-13 and UPC-A?
UPC-A is a 12-digit format used mainly in the United States and Canada, while EAN-13 is its 13-digit international superset — every UPC-A code can be represented as an EAN-13 code by adding a leading zero, which is why most modern scanners read both.
