Sentiment Analyzer
This sentiment analyzer scores English text as positive, negative, or neutral and reports a compound score from -1 (most negative) to +1 (most positive). Single mode breaks down the positive, neutral, and negative portions of one piece of text, while bulk mode processes hundreds of reviews, tweets, or comments at once and exports results as CSV or JSON. It’s tuned for short, informal English like reviews and social posts, and every score is computed locally in your browser with no API key needed.
- Single mode — paste one text (a review, tweet, comment). Shows the sentiment label plus positive / neutral / negative percentages and a compound score from −1 to +1.
- Bulk mode — paste one text per line, or drop a
.txt/.csv. Each line is scored independently and a summary of the distribution appears above the table. - Tuned for short, informal English — product reviews, tweets, and comments. Long-form writing and non-English text produce less reliable scores.
- Label thresholds: Positive if compound ≥ 0.05, Negative if ≤ −0.05, otherwise Neutral.
Frequently asked questions
How is the sentiment score calculated?
Each text gets a compound score from -1 to +1 plus positive, neutral, and negative portions; a compound score of 0.05 or higher is labeled Positive, -0.05 or lower is labeled Negative, and anything between is Neutral.
What is a compound score in sentiment analysis?
It’s a single normalized number between -1 and +1 that summarizes the overall tone of a text, combining its positive and negative signals into one score you can sort or compare across many items.
How accurate is this on long articles or non-English text?
It’s tuned for short, informal English such as reviews, tweets, and comments, and is less reliable on long-form writing or text in other languages.
Can I analyze a batch of reviews at once?
Yes — bulk mode processes hundreds of reviews or comments in one pass, showing a summary of positive, neutral, and negative counts plus the average compound score, and exports the full results as CSV or JSON.
Does this tool send my text to an external API?
No. Sentiment scoring runs entirely in your browser with no API keys and no uploads.
