Watermark PDF

Add a text watermark to a PDF: any wording, size, colour, angle and opacity, on every page or only the pages you name. A single centred mark is the usual choice; tiling repeats it in a grid across the whole page, which is considerably harder to remove from a leaked copy than one mark in the middle. The mark is drawn as real text on top of the existing page, so nothing underneath is re-rendered or degraded, and pages that carry a rotation get the mark at the correct angle relative to what a reader sees. A preview of the finished page is available before you download.

How it works

Stamp text across every page — or only the pages you name. A single centred mark is the usual choice; tiling repeats it in a grid, which is much harder to remove from a leaked copy than one mark in the middle.

Frequently asked questions

How do I watermark a PDF?

Upload it, type the text — CONFIDENTIAL and DRAFT are one click away — then set the angle and opacity and download. A preview is available before you commit.

What opacity should a watermark be?

Around 15-25% marks the page clearly without making the text underneath hard to read. The default is 18%.

What does tiling do?

It repeats the mark in a grid across the whole page instead of placing it once. A single centred mark can be cropped or covered; a tiled one cannot be removed without damaging the page.

Does the watermark stop people editing the PDF?

No. It is a visible deterrent, not a security control — anyone with the right software can remove drawn text. For real restrictions you need encryption and permissions.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Name the pages or ranges, or click them in the previews. Leave the box empty to mark every page.

Is my document uploaded?

No. The watermark is drawn in your browser and the file is never sent anywhere.
