Censor Image — Blur or Block Out a Region
Hide parts of a picture by dragging rectangles over them: each marked area can be blurred, pixelated or covered with a solid block of any colour. Mark as many areas as you need, undo the last one or clear them all, and download the result. The download is rebuilt from the censored pixels, so the hidden detail is genuinely absent from the file rather than merely covered up, and no metadata from the original is carried over. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Is the hidden detail really removed from the downloaded file?
Yes — the download is re-encoded from the censored pixels, so the original values under a blurred or blocked area do not exist in the file. This is unlike drawing a shape over an image in a document, where the covered content is often still stored underneath.
Which method is safest for hiding a face or a name?
A solid block is the only one of the three that removes the detail outright. Blur and pixelation obscure it, and at weak settings both have been shown to be partly reversible by software, so use a strong radius or large block size if you choose them.
Can I censor several areas in one image?
Any number of rectangles can be marked, each shown in the list below the picture; clicking an entry removes it, and the toolbar has undo and clear-all buttons.
Does the censored image keep the original EXIF data?
No metadata carries over — the file is rebuilt from pixels alone, so GPS coordinates, camera details and timestamps present in the original are not in the download.
Is the photo uploaded to censor it?
The photo is decoded, censored and re-encoded entirely by your own browser, so it never leaves your device at any point.
