YouTube Thumbnail Grabber
Paste any YouTube link — a watch URL, a youtu.be short link, a Shorts link, a live link or an embed URL — and get all five thumbnail sizes with their dimensions, plus embed code with a responsive wrapper. Each size is annotated with whether it always exists: the largest is only present for videos uploaded at 720p or above, while the high-quality size is always there. If the link is not recognisably YouTube, nothing is returned rather than a guess. Everything is generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded and no result is recorded anywhere.
How it works
Paste any YouTube link — a normal watch URL, a short youtu.be link, a Shorts link, a live link or an embed URL — and the eleven-character video ID is pulled out of it. A bare ID works too. If the link is not recognisably YouTube, nothing is returned rather than a guess, because a wrong ID silently shows someone else’s video.
Thumbnail URLs are constructed from the ID and served by YouTube. The largest size only exists for videos uploaded at 720p or above, so a link to it can come back as a grey placeholder — the high-quality size is the one that is always present, and it is the safe choice when you cannot check each video.
Nothing is fetched by this page and no request is made to YouTube until your browser loads the images below.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the largest thumbnail sometimes not load?
The maximum-resolution thumbnail only exists for videos uploaded at 720p or above. For anything smaller the URL returns a grey placeholder — which is why the high-quality size, which is always present, is the safe choice when you cannot check each video.
Which link formats are recognised?
Watch URLs, youtu.be short links, Shorts links, live links, embed URLs, the nocookie domain and a bare eleven-character video ID. If none of those match, nothing is returned rather than a guess — a wrong ID silently shows someone else video.
What is the privacy-enhanced domain?
Embedding through youtube-nocookie.com stops YouTube storing viewing data in cookies unless the visitor actually plays the video. It reduces tracking but does not eliminate it, and it is not on its own enough to remove a cookie consent obligation.
Does this page fetch anything from YouTube?
The page itself makes no request. The thumbnail URLs are constructed from the video ID, and your browser loads the images directly from YouTube when it displays them.
Can I use these thumbnails on my own site?
Thumbnails and video content belong to their uploader. Referencing one to link to the video is ordinary practice; republishing it as your own is a matter for the rights holder, not for this tool.
